Beyond the campus

BEYOND THE CAMPUS

At Assabah Arts and Science College, we are deeply committed to making a positive impact both on and off-campus. Our college actively engages in various activities that promote a supportive and dynamic environment, enhancing our reputation while providing valuable experiences for students and faculty alike. We regularly organize community outreach programs, cultural events, and educational workshops, fostering strong community relations and offering real-world experiences. By participating in inter-collegiate competitions, social awareness campaigns, and environmental conservation projects, we demonstrate our dedication to holistic education and social responsibility. These efforts ensure that Assabah Arts and Science College maintains a strong and vibrant presence beyond our campus.

Our specific initiatives include the Sneharamam project, which transforms garbage dumps into beautiful parks, and the Nunanj Theerna Madhuram campaign, aimed at making the campus plastic-free by collecting and properly disposing of wrappers from sweets, ice cream, and chips. We also undertake public pond cleaning activities, clearing tons of plastic waste to restore these ponds for public use.

Tree planting along roadsides is another significant activity, contributing to the "Meri Maati Mera Desh" project, which is part of the broader environmental conservation efforts led by the Central and State Governments and the Calicut University NSS Directorate. Our Swachhta Pakhwada Cleaning Program, held on Gandhi Jayanti, involves extensive campus and village cleaning drives, aligning with Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a clean India.

We lead workshops for students from twenty schools in the Alamkode Panchayat as part of the Kerala Government's Malinya Mukta Nava Keralam project. Our participation in the Amritakasham filling event and the Malinya Mukta Navekaralam campaign, organized by Suchitva Mission and Haritakarma Sena, highlights our active involvement in state-led initiatives.

Our NSS unit conducts agricultural activities such as tapioca harvesting and planting on Chingam 1 Agriculture Day. We also honor distinguished local farmers for their contributions to the agricultural sector. The Ezhuthi Theerna Sambadhyam campaign, which involves installing pen boxes on campus to collect and recycle used pens, exemplifies our innovative approach to sustainability.

Through these diverse and impactful activities, Assabah Arts and Science College not only enriches our students' educational experiences but also contributes significantly to community development and environmental sustainability. Our commitment to active engagement and responsibility ensures that we remain a positive and sustainable future.
