The Department of Psychology, Assabah Arts and Science College, Valayamkulam, organized a Digital Poster Making Competition on 25 June 2026 in observance of International Anti-Drug Day. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging them to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The event was organized under the monitoring of the IQAC.
A total of 10 students from various departments enthusiastically participated in the competition. The participants displayed remarkable creativity and social responsibility by designing impactful digital posters that conveyed powerful anti-drug messages. Their works highlighted the importance of preventing substance abuse and inspired awareness among the student community.
The competition concluded successfully, with Rifha Marwa from the Department of Food Technology securing the first prize for her outstanding digital poster. The programme served as an effective platform to promote awareness, creativity, and social commitment among students, contributing to the observance of International Anti-Drug Day in a meaningful manner.
Objectives
• To create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and substance addiction.
• To observe International Anti-Drug Day by promoting the message of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
• To encourage students to express their thoughts and ideas on social issues through digital art and creativity.
• To inspire youth to become responsible citizens by advocating drug prevention and healthy living.
• To enhance students' digital design, communication, and creative skills through meaningful participation.
• To promote social responsibility and community awareness regarding the prevention of substance abuse.
CONCLUSION
The programme concluded successfully with active participation and enthusiastic involvement from the students. The Digital Poster Making Competition effectively conveyed the importance of preventing drug abuse and promoted awareness about leading a healthy, drug-free life. Through their creative and impactful posters, participants demonstrated a strong sense of social responsibility and commitment to spreading positive messages. The event achieved its objective of sensitizing students to the dangers of substance abuse.
