International Asteroid Day Celebration
The programme began with an inaugural session, which was officially inaugurated by the Principal capt. Prof. Mohammed Koya M.N. In the inaugural address, the Principal emphasized the importance of International Asteroid Day in fostering scientific curiosity and enhancing students' understanding of space research and the significance of monitoring near-Earth objects. The Heads of various departments felicitated the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the Science Club and the Department of Geology in organizing the event.
As part of the celebration, a documentary exhibition was conducted featuring informative documentary on asteroids, their formation, their role in the solar system, and the scientific initiatives undertaken to study them. The exhibition provided participants with valuable knowledge and encouraged greater interest in astronomy and geology.
Following the documentary session, a quiz competition on space science and asteroids was organized for students. The competition tested participants' knowledge of astronomy, planetary science, space missions, and asteroid-related facts. Students participated enthusiastically, making the event both educational and engaging.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Principal, Heads of Departments, faculty members, organizers, and students for their active participation and support in making the International Asteroid Day celebration a meaningful and successful event.
