AWARNESS PROGRAMME ON ANTI-DRUG ABUSE DAY

In connection with the observance of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26th, an awareness programme was jointly organized by the Unarvu Counseling Centre and the Department of Psychology, Assabah Arts and Science College, Valayamkulam. The event took place at MVM Higher Secondary School and was specifically arranged for the Plus Two students.

The session was conducted from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the resource person was Ms. Afeefa MK, psychologist at Assabah College. She provided an insightful talk on various aspects of drug abuse, highlighting both psychological and physical consequences, related mental health disorders, common causes for substance use, and the behavioral signs that may indicate addiction.

To further engage the students and reinforce the message, the psychology students of Assabah College conducted an interactive quiz on drug abuse. A prize was awarded to the winner, adding an element of encouragement and enthusiasm among the participants.

The programme was well-received and served as an effective platform to educate students on the dangers of drug abuse, reinforcing the importance of making informed and healthy life choices. It concluded with a strong message urging the youth to stay drug-free and lead a healthy, productive life.
