The Department of Computer Applications, Cyber Club, and Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) of Assabah Arts and Science College organized a workshop titled "DESIGN DOCK: E-Poster Designing Workshop" on June 18, 2026. The event was monitored by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The workshop aimed to enhance students' digital creativity and technical skills in modern poster design.
The workshop commenced at 2:00 PM in the college Computer Lab. The formal inauguration was solemnized by Prof. MN Mohamed Koya, the Principal of Assabah Arts and Science College. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the growing importance of digital literacy, visual communication, and creative expression in today's technology-driven academic and professional landscapes.
Technical & Hands-on Sessions
Following the inauguration, the technical training was led by student peer mentors from the 2nd Year BCA department. Serving as the primary resource persons, they managed the peer-to-peer learning environment effectively:
The resource persons guided the participants through various digital design platforms, focusing on layout principles, typography, color theory, and effective messaging for electronic posters.
Key Outcomes
The workshop successfully achieved its intended objectives, providing participants with:
Practical Design Skills: Hands-on experience in navigating digital canvas tools and creating structurally sound electronic posters.
Critical Evaluation Skills: The capability to analyze design compositions, balance visual hierarchies, and choose appropriate design elements.
Tangible Output and Next Steps: Participants created their own unique e-posters by the end of the session, establishing a foundational portfolio for future digital design endeavors.
The "Design Dock" workshop concluded successfully with an active feedback session. The hands-on nature of the training, coupled with peer-led mentoring, proved highly effective in sparking creative innovation among the students.
