The Department of Computer Applications, in association with the Department of Management and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Assabah Arts and Science College, Valayamkulam, organized a career-oriented programme titled “FirstDraft – Your First Draft, Your First Impression” on 19 August 2026 at 11:45 AM in the Computer Lab. The programme was monitored by IQAC.

The programme was designed to help students understand the importance of creating an effective and professional Curriculum Vitae (CV). It aimed to equip students with the skills required to present their academic qualifications, skills, strengths, and achievements in a clear and professional manner.

The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Mohamed Koya MN. His presence and guidance encouraged students to recognize the importance of professional presentation and career preparation from the early stages of their academic journey.

The session focused on key aspects of CV preparation, including building a professional CV, highlighting relevant skills and strengths, organizing academic information effectively, and creating a positive first impression before potential employers. Students were also encouraged to develop confidence in presenting themselves and their career goals.

The programme was presented by Shahana Sherin, Riya, Neethu, and Arya, students of 2nd Year BCA. Their involvement provided a valuable peer-learning experience and encouraged active participation among the students.

The initiative successfully connected academic learning with career development. It helped students understand that a well-structured CV is an important tool for internships, placements, higher studies, and future employment opportunities. The collaborative efforts of the Departments of Computer Applications and Management, along with IIC, contributed to making the programme meaningful and relevant to students.

Overall, “FirstDraft” was a useful and student-focused programme that enhanced awareness about CV preparation and encouraged students to take confident steps towards their career goals.
