On February 18, 2025, the NSS Unit 240 of Assabah Arts and Science College, Valayamkulam, organized a fundraising campaign to support Mujeeb Rahman, a 23- year-old kidney patient from Ponnani who required urgent medical treatment. Through the dedicated efforts of NSS volunteers, the campaign successfully raised ₹38,000 (thirty-eight thousand rupees) to assist with his medical expenses.
To extend financial aid to a critically ill patient in need of urgent medical support. To sensitize students and the community about the importance of helping those in medical distress. To promote humanitarian values and encourage collective social responsibility.
NSS volunteers visited classrooms, staff rooms, and common areas to encourage donations from students and faculty members. Collection boxes were placed in strategic locations within the college premises. The campaign was extended to local businesses and well-wishers, who willingly contributed to the cause. After the successful completion of the fundraising drive, the collected amount of ₹38,000 was handed over to Mujeeb Rahman’s family. His family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the NSS Unit and all contributors for their kindness and generosity.
