The Library and Resource Centre in association with the Malayalam Department of Assabah Arts and Science College jointly released the second edition of the newsletter “Idam” on 30/03/2026. The program was held at 11:00 AM in the Seminar Hall.
The function began with a welcome address by Mr. Praveen K.U., Head of the Malayalam Department. The program was presided over by the Principal, Prof. Mohamed Koya M.N. The official release of the newsletter was carried out by Mr. Muhamedunni Haji, General Secretary of the College Management. The President of the College Management, Mr. Ashraf P.P., attended the program as the Chief Guest.
Felicitations were delivered by Dr. Baiju M.K. (Vice Principal), Mr. Shoukathali (Office Superintendent), Ms. Vibitha V.M. (Head of the Geology Department), and Mr. Sinaj Muhammed (College Union Chairman). The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Shifna Parveen, a second-year M.A. English student.
Around 70 students from various departments actively participated in the program.The primary objective of releasing the second edition of “Idam” was to encourage student's creativity, enhance their writing and literary skills, and provide a platform for expressing ideas, stories, and perspectives.The program was successful in inspiring students to actively engage in literary and creative activities. It enhanced interdepartmental cooperation and increased awareness about the importance of student publications. The release of the newsletter motivated students to contribute more confidently to future editions and fostered a sense of achievement and participation among them.
