Introduction
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the Department of Computer Applications, Assabah Arts and Science College, Valayamkulam, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an *Independence Day Quiz Competition* on *14 August 2026 at 10:00 AM* at the Conference Hall. The programme was monitored by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
Objective
The quiz competition was organized to promote awareness and knowledge about *India’s freedom struggle, national history, heritage, and Independence Day* among students. It aimed to encourage students to explore important events, personalities, movements, and milestones associated with India's journey to independence.
Programme Highlights
The programme was designed as an engaging knowledge-based competition, encouraging students to test their understanding of Indian history and the freedom movement. The theme, *“Test Your Knowledge. Celebrate Freedom.”*, reflected the educational and patriotic spirit of the event.
The quiz provided students with an opportunity to strengthen their general knowledge, develop healthy competitive spirit, and appreciate the sacrifices and contributions of the freedom fighters who played significant roles in India's struggle for independence.
The programme also emphasized the values expressed through the theme *“Freedom to Think. Pride to Know.”*, encouraging students to celebrate India's independence through learning and intellectual engagement.
