LEGAL AWARENESS CLASS ON ANTI-RAGGING

The NSS 240 Unit of Assabah College organized a legal awareness class focusing on the issue of ragging, its legal implications, and the measures students can take to prevent and report such incidents. The session was conducted by Adv. Noushad P, an experienced legal professional, who provided valuable insights into anti-ragging laws and student rights.

Ragging is a serious issue that affects the safety and well-being of students across educational institutions. To address this problem and raise awareness about the legal aspects surrounding it, the NSS 240 Unit of Assabah College hosted a class aimed at educating students on the consequences of ragging and the legal framework in place to combat it. The session was conducted by Adv. Noushad P, a legal expert specializing in student rights and anti-ragging laws.

The legal awareness class was attended by a large number of students, including NSS volunteers and other members of the college community. The session provided an in- depth understanding of ragging, its definition, the severe psychological and physical impact it can have on victims, and the steps students can take to prevent and address ragging incidents. Adv. Noushad P engaged with the students through an interactive presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session to clarify doubts and concerns.

Towards the end of the class, students were encouraged to ask questions and share their thoughts. Several students raised concerns about how to deal with potential ragging situations and how to report them discreetly.

The legal awareness class on anti-ragging was an eye-opening session for all participants. It helped foster a deeper understanding of the legal aspects of ragging and empowered students with the knowledge and tools to prevent and combat this issue. The session concluded with Adv. Noushad P emphasizing the importance of creating a respectful and inclusive environment on campus, where every student feels valued and safe.
