The PG Department of Food Science and Technology, in association with the Nutrition Club, conducted a demonstration on mushroom cultivation on 25/06/2026 at the Food Technology Laboratory of Assabah Arts and Science College.During the session, the complete procedure of mushroom cultivation was explained to the participants. After the demonstration, the prepared substrate was kept for incubation. After about two weeks, the growth of mushroom mycelium (hyphae) will be observed, indicating successful colonization, and the cultivation process is continuing toward the fruiting stage.The demonstration generated considerable interest among the students and enhanced their understanding of mushroom cultivation as a sustainable food production technique and a potential entrepreneurial opportunity. Participants are looking forward to observing the final fruiting stage in the coming weeks.
