An orientation session on SWAYAM /NPTEL online courses was conducted by the Commerce Club in Association with PG Department of Commerce and Management and IQAC for the first-semester students of the CUFYUG  B.COM. CO OPERATION AND B. COM COMUTER APPLICATIONS  on  03-01-2025, Friday at the seminar hall. The session was handled by Dr. Baiju M.K. , IQAC Co-ordinator and Vice Principal of Assabah  Arts and Science College.

OBJECTIVE:

• Introduce the Swayam Platform and enhance awareness
• Promote online learning and guide enrollment process
• Highlight certification benefits
• Integrate with CUFYUGP Curriculum and clarify credit transfer
• Promote kill Development and Foster LifeLong Learning .

The session commenced with a warm welcome and an introduction to the objectives of SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), a Government of India initiative aimed at providing quality education to students across the country. Dr.Baiju M K highlighted the importance of SWAYAM NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) courses in enhancing academic knowledge, skill development, and career opportunities.

The following were the  key aspects during the session:

1. Overview of SWAYAM NPTEL: The platform's vision and structure, emphasizing its free access to high-quality courses.
2. Course Categories: Various disciplines available, including science, commerce, arts, and technology.
3. Enrollment and Certification: Steps for registration, navigating the platform, and obtaining government-recognized certifications.
4. Benefits for CUFYUG Students: Integrating online learning with the CUFYUG curriculum to enhance academic performance and employability.

The session included a live demonstration of navigating the SWAYAM  /NPTEL platform, creating accounts, and enrolling in courses. Students were also encouraged to explore the course catalog to find topics aligned with their interests and career aspirations.

The orientation concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students clarified their doubts regarding course selection, exam procedures, B credit transfers.

CONCLUSION

The session was highly informative and motivated the students to leverage SWAYAM / NPTEL for their academic growth and skill enhancement. The Commerce Club expressed gratitude to Dr. Baiju  M. K. for his invaluable insights and guidance.
