Tagore Commemoration and Lecture Organized

Under the auspices of the PG Department of English at Assabah Arts and Science College, a memorial program and lecture were organized to observe the death anniversary of world-renowned poet Rabindranath Tagore. Held at the college seminar hall, the event was inaugurated by College Principal Prof. M.N. Muhammed Koya. Dr. K. Harikrishnan, Head of the English Department, presided over the function.
Translator and academic Dr. Geetha Krishnankutty delivered the keynote address on "Tagore's Female Characters." The session was followed by the screening of the documentary film Rabindranath Tagore, directed by Satyajit Ray, a Bengali folk dance performance by English faculty member Krishnapriya, and various cultural programs by students. A large number of faculty members and students attended the event.
