On September 15, 2023, the PG Department of Physics and the Science Club jointly organized a seminar presentation in celebration of Ozone Day at the College Conference Hall. The event aimed to raise awareness about ozone depletion and its environmental consequences. Mr. Ranjuraj K, a member of the Department of Physics and Coordinator of the Science Club, delivered a welcoming speech, setting the stage for the day's proceedings. The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. Muhamed Koya M N, the college's Principal, who emphasized the importance of education in addressing environmental challenges. Following the inauguration, Mr. Vibitha, the Head of the Department of Geology and Vice President of the Science Club, delivered a Presidential Address, providing insights into the geological aspects of ozone depletion within the broader environmental context.
The central component of the event was the seminar presentation by Dr. Nishanth T, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur. Dr. Nishanth delivered an informative and engaging presentation, unraveling the science behind ozone depletion and its consequences for the planet. An interactive session followed, allowing participants to pose questions and engage in discussions with Dr. Nishanth, enhancing their understanding of the topic. The seminar concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Irfana, a 3rd-semester MSc Physics student, expressing gratitude to participants, speakers, and organizers for their invaluable contributions to the event's success.
