UNITED AGAINST DRUG ABUSE
On June 26, National Service Scheme unit 240 observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, focusing on raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the need to address illicit trafficking. The event began with a comprehensive speech by Muhammad Ajmal R S, Head of the Department of Psychology, who highlighted the societal impacts of drug abuse. NSS coordinator Abdul Rahman P. then outlined the program's objectives, emphasizing collective action. A human chain was formed as a powerful visual representation of solidarity, during which Union Chairperson Nusaiba Nadhran O N delivered an inspiring speech. Participants then took a united pledge against drug abuse. In the second phase, students, teachers, and coordinators distributed informational pamphlets to community members, including travelers, shopkeepers, and residents. This effort aimed to educate the public about the risks of drug abuse and stress the importance of prevention and intervention.
