Assabah College Celebrates International Yoga Day with Enlightening Event
The Women's Development Cell (WDC) of Assabah organized a "Self Defence Training for Girls" on March 18, 2024, in honor of International Women's Day. The event, led by WDC Convenor Shajitha V and presided over by Principal Mohammed Koya M N, aimed to equip female students with essential self-defence skills. Muhammedunni Haji, General Secretary of Assabah, inaugurated the ceremony, with felicitations from dignitaries including Ashraf P P, President of Assabah, Nusaiba Nadran, College Union Chairperson, and Jisha M K, WDC Joint Convenor. Chief guest Nasreen PV delivered a lecture on the significance of International Women's Day, followed by effective self-defence training. Bafeesha, WDC President, expressed gratitude to participants. Department of Physical Education, in partnership with NSS Unit 240,
orchestrated an enlightening event aimed at promoting holistic wellness among
the students. As the clock struck the appointed hour, the serene ambiance of the
Assabah College Auditorium welcomed the eager participants, ready to embark
on a journey of self-discovery and inner harmony.
The proceedings commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Praveen K U,
Staff Secretary, whose words resonated with enthusiasm and
the anticipation. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to all present, emphasizing the significance of
yoga in nurturing both physical and mental well-being. His words set the tone for a day filled with
enlightenment and rejuvenation
Former Deputy Collector P. P. M Ashraf organized the event. Famous Yogacharya Sobha Sreedharan led the yoga training.
