Introduction: Assabah Arts & Science College, Valayamkulam, is a self-financed institution affiliated with the University of Calicut. Established in 2005, the college is managed by the Assabah Association Trust. The campus is conveniently located near the Kuttippuram-Thrissur State Highway at Valayamkulam, Kokkur, within the Alamcode Panchayath of Malappuram district. 

Objective: The primary objective of the RTI Cell is to facilitate the dissemination of information regarding the college’s operations, policies, decisions, and other matters of public interest. It serves as a dedicated point of contact for individuals seeking information under the RTI Act.

Functions and Responsibilities: The RTI Cell receives RTI applications from citizens requesting information and ensures that the applications are processed promptly and efficiently. It collects and compiles relevant information from various departments within the college and provides the requested information to applicants within the stipulated time frame as mandated by the RTI Act. The Cell maintains a comprehensive record of all RTI applications received, processed, and the responses provided, ensuring that records are updated regularly and are easily accessible for audit and review purposes. Additionally, the RTI Cell conducts training sessions for staff and faculty members on the importance of the RTI Act and their roles in ensuring compliance, and organizes awareness programs to educate students and the public about their rights under the RTI Act. The Cell ensures that the college complies with all the requirements of the RTI Act and submits regular reports to higher authorities and regulatory bodies as required.
