WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL

The Women Development Cell is constituted to maintain a harmonious atmosphere at the institution, to enable women to pursue their work and learning with dignity and reassurance. It is a statutory body for the prevention of all discriminations, grievances, mental, sexual and physical harassments against women and to take actions against the accused.

Our mission for the Women Development Cell is to provide a comprehensive support system that addresses the unique needs and challenges faced by women in our community. We are committed to offering mentorship, guidance, and resources to help women navigate academic, career, and personal pursuits successfully.

VISION

Our vision for the Women Development Cell is to create an environment where women feel empowered, respected, and supported in achieving their full potential. We envision a campus where gender equality is not just a goal but a lived reality, where women have equal opportunities for growth, leadership, and success.


OBJECTIVES/AIMS OF WDC

• To promote general well being of female students, teaching and non teaching women staff.

• Providing a platform where students can comfortably participate and share their views.

• To promote gender equality and making a gender sensitive space.

• Ensuring a safety hub for the students and confirming the sign of progression and open thinking.

• Empowering the female students to do what they want and strengthen them to offer their different perspective on gender issues.

• Providing personal guidance, legal awareness on specific issues concerning women.

• Pouring over all development in all spheres of the life of women and empowering to recognize their true potential.

• To enhance self confidence, good personality, problem solving and hygiene habits.

• Preventing gender discrimination and inappropriate sexual conduct.

• Maintaining intellectual, social upliftments of the female students and creating awareness of their rights and duties.

• Selected students from each class as members and selected President and Secretary among them on 8/7/2019..

•Conducted a meeting of the selected students on 8/7/2019 and gave them instructions and handed over their duties.

• Collected the report of their duties.

• Inaugurated the Ladies Room by Pro. V K Aboobacker,Principal on 4/11/2019.

• Collected the necessary items into the ladies room.

• Conducted a meeting for female teachers on 27/6/2019 to discuss about the Programmes and related activities as we are as concerned.

• Conducted a meeting for the students to enhance an awareness of their upliftments.

• A motivation class was conducted by Mrs Rubeena.,a Senior Police Officer on 23/10/2019.

• Conducted a webinar on Cyber bullying and friendship fires by Zarina Shanavas (A motivational speaker and corporate trainer).

• Celebrated National womens day on13/2/2021.

• Conducted a webinar on National womens day (13/2/2021) on the "Struggles and worries among the students in the Covid pandemic and their solutions"by Mrs Mubashira, Psychologist.

• Celebrated National womens day on 8/3/2021.

• Conducted an Essay writing competetion to the students though online on 8/3/2021 in connection with National womens day.

• Conducted a webinar on15/7/2021 from 'Mahila sakthi kendra' and it was presented by Dr. Lijisha, Research Associate IRTC on "Gender awareness".

• Mrs.Rubeena (Senior Police officer)--"Adolescence age--Consideration, strength and courage".

• Mrs.Zarina Shanavas (Motivational speaker and a corporate trainer)--"Cyberbullying and friendship fires in the digital world".

• Mrs.Mubashira (Psychologist) --"Struggles and worries among the students in the Covid pandemic and their solutions".

• Dr. Lijisha, Research Associate I RTC,Mundoor--"Gender awareness programme".

• Solved a problem between two colleagues (a male and a female) on 3/7/2019.

• Solved a complaint that got from a few students against a teacher.

• Solved a complaint that received from a lady teacher against a lady office staff on 14/11/2019.

• Convinced the students of their misunderstanding against the teachers as concerned the rules and regulations of the college and solved that issue on 8/7/2019.
